The first debate for the US 2020 elections saw President Donald Trump and the Democratic candidate former-Vice President Joe Biden as fierce opponents.
Trump put on stage his long-standing fighting approach, with heated personal attacks, while Biden often stared into the camera, addressing and warning the audience against the threat posed by his rival.
Both openly insulted each other in the face of Fox News anchor Chris Wallace, who struggled to moderate the match, at times without success.
This first debate shed little light on what either candidate would do if elected. If one expected it to prompt a clearer view of the situation, so that undecided people could make up their minds, well, I think the debate did not hit the target, though fierce and punching as it was (and maybe just because of that).
